Divers Tech Service (“we”, “us”) repairs and services scuba diving equipment and sells dive shop software. This policy explains what we collect from the people who use our services, what we do with it, and what we will never do with it.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us — your name, phone number, email address and, when we ship something back to you, your mailing address. You give these to us on a repair intake form, in the shop, or when you buy something.
- What you left with us — the equipment, its serial numbers, what we found on the bench and what we did about it.
- Payment details — handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Website basics — ordinary server logs, and nothing else. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
What we do with it
- Service the equipment you brought us and get it back to you.
- Tell you what is happening: that we received your gear, what it needs, what it will cost, and that it is ready — by email, by phone, and by text if you asked for texts.
- Send receipts, invoices and service records, and remind you when a piece of gear is next due for service.
- Meet the record-keeping that equipment manufacturers and the law require of a service center.
Text messages
We only text customers who asked us to, in writing, by ticking the consent box on our intake form. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service. You can stop the texts at any time by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP or calling us. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Full details are in our SMS Terms & Conditions.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your information, and we do not rent, trade or hand it to anyone for their own marketing. We share it only with the companies that make our service work, and only with what they need to do their job: our payment processor, our email and text message providers, our shipping carriers, and the equipment manufacturer when a warranty claim requires it. Each is bound to use it only for that purpose. We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Service records are kept for as long as the equipment history is useful to you and to the manufacturer, which for a life-support item is years rather than months. You can ask us to delete your contact details at any time; we will keep only what we must to satisfy tax and safety record-keeping.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct it, or to delete it, and we will.
- Stop the texts with STOP; unsubscribe from email with the link in any email we send.
California residents have the right under the CCPA to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but ask us anyway and we will confirm it in writing.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top of this page.
